On Your Right And On Your Left
"And whoso receiveth you, there I will be also, for I will go before your face. I will be on your right hand and on your left, and my Spirit shall be in your hearts, and mine angels round about you, to bear you up." (D&C 84:88). During the first passover, the children of Israel were told to mark with lamb's blood the lintel and both side posts of their doorways. The protective blood of the Lamb of God was on their right and on their left, just like in the scripture above. Christ is with us for the good and the bad, the happy and the sad, the moments of triumph and the moments of despair. He is not only above us but on our right and on our left. There is no struggle too big or too small for the Lord and His mercy. We can wrap ourselves in His enabling power to go forth with faith and lay hold of everything that is noble and good and right. And, when we have suffered every pain and heartache and sacrificed every hope and dream and lost all that we hold dear, He will bear us up with His bottomless strength when we no longer ourselves have any strength left. When everything is going right, He is on our right. When it seems like we have nothing left, He is on our left.
