Beginning Of All Creation

Yesterday, on Christmas, NASA launched their new telescope, the James Webb Space Telescope, into space. It's going to be positioned almost a million miles away and it's six times larger than the Hubble telescope and was built to study the light at the beginning of the universe. I thought it was very fitting that a device built to study the beginning of all creation was launched on the day we commemorate the mortal birth of Jesus Christ, who was the beginning of all creation and is also not only the light of the world but the light of the universe. I was also thinking about the symbolism of replacing telescopes. The Hubble telescope has given us many stunning images over the course of several decades that have changed our understanding of the universe. And with that new understanding, we've built a new telescope that will see light in a different and hopefully improved way. It is the same with us and our pursuit of truth and knowledge about the universe. Just look at the ongoing process of the Restoration of the gospel and the Restoration of the church. Certain programs and procedures in the church are replaced or updated based on continuing revelation from the Lord. The old way of doing things helped us in so many ways, but now we are ready for a newer, higher, holier, more excellent way.
