Lighting The Fire

A magnifying glass can focus the light of the sun to such an intensity that it can actually light a fire. We have all been given the Light of Christ and we have all been given callings of which we have been invited to magnify. In other words, we all have the ability and the mandate to magnify the Light of Christ with our love and service to such a degree that we light a fire in the hearts of those to whom we have been called to serve. When those whom we serve feel the Spirit of God like a fire burning in their hearts, it is because we have focused the Savior's light into their hearts with such intensity that a fire has been lit. Just as you can hardly light a whole forest on fire with a single magnifying glass all in one go, we also can't light a fire in the hearts of hundreds of people all at once. But just as the Savior did, as we love and serve one by one, we can shine the light into each heart until they begin to burn with testimonies of their own. Taking such time to focus on one person at a time will pay off down the road, as the fire spreads from person to person until every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is the Christ.
