“Gloria in Excelsis Deo” - it's strange, but those four words sum up the whole mission of our Savior Jesus Christ. Gloria in Excelsis Deo translates from Latin to Glory to God in the highest degree, or, you could say, to God in the highest degree of glory. “For behold, this is my work and my glory—to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man.” (Moses 1:39). The work and the glory of our Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ is to help each of us return to live with our Heavenly Father in the Celestial Kingdom - to be with God in the highest degree of glory. Angels sang Gloria in Excelsis Deo to announce the birth of Jesus Christ, but, to a greater or lesser extent, the heavens and all parts of the earth dedicated to loving God with all their might, mind and strength have been singing and will continue to sing for the rest of time and throughout all eternity “Gloria In Excelsis Deo”. I know that we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ because He is our Savior and thanks to His Atoning Sacrifice, He has saved us all from death and hell and has brought to pass our immortality. But if we will let Him, Jesus Christ can be more than our Savior. He can be our Exalter, bringing to pass not only our immortality but also our Eternal Life, ensuring that we return to live with Him and our Heavenly Father in the highest degree of Glory.
