Not Live By Bread Alone

“And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live.” (Deuteronomy 8:3). This verse explains that living is a lot more than just not dying. In order to survive, we must eat, but in order to live, we need more than that. Without the word of God, we are locked into a hazy struggle to survive, going from moment to moment seeking for peace and happiness but only finding it occasionally by accident or random chance. But if we take heed of every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord we can truly live. We can be assured peace and happiness and prosperity in this life, and eternal life in the world to come.
