I Know That My Redeemer Lives!

“I know that my Redeemer lives!” (Samuel Medley, “I Know That My Redeemer Lives”). It has been an incredible journey these last couple of weeks studying and treasuring up in my heart and sharing with all of you some of the truths contained in the hymn “I Know That My Redeemer Lives.” I can now say with greater clarity, deeper conviction, and stronger testimony that I know that my Redeemer lives. We all have the opportunity to feel and draw strength and courage and hope from His living presence that surrounds each of us from moment to moment. He has not nor will He ever abandon or forsake us, no matter how many times we ourselves in our pride and foolishness may attempt to abandon and forsake Him. He is deeply interested and invested in helping us to find meaning and fulfillment and happiness from day to day and in building line upon line a life that will lead to long term success and ultimately exaltation in the Kingdom of God, and He is constantly arranging matters in ways both small and large to prepare a way for us to escape the worst of our temptations and trials and lead us on the one path back to His presence. He cares much more about and is working much harder to secure our Salvation than even we are. His love for us is infinite and intimate. His wisdom is inscrutable and indispensable. His grace is enabling and ennobling. His light is empowering and emboldening. His hope is eternal and encouraging. We could not live our lives without Him and yet, because He lives who once was dead, through the power of His Atonement and Resurrection, we will be able to live forever with Him.
