The Lifetime Journey Of The Stars
A single blade of grass is the lifetime journey of the stars. I'm paraphrasing because I don't remember the exact quote but that's from Walt Whitman. When we look up at the stars the light that we see has traveled for years or decades or centuries to reach us. When God set as a sign of His Son's birth a new star, He had to have prepared for that star to appear years or centuries or millennia in advance. A lot of people, from sailors to astrologers to three wise men, use the stars to navigate, but the light from the stars that we use to navigate right now is actually thousands of years old. God can see the end from the beginning. He has prepared signs and guiding lights long before we were born to be used at the exact right moment that we need them. If the light that shows us the way has traveled for eons and eons then maybe we can have a little gratitude and a little humility and a little patience as we wait for the Lord to show us the way.
