The Day The Great I Am Was
The Saturday before the very first Easter Sunday is the only full day in the entire history of the world from the moment Jehovah said 'Let there be Light' to the present day that our Lord and God was dead. For that one day the Great I Am became the Great I Was. For that one day the Holy Trinity was reduced down to only two living Gods. For that one day, after bearing an infinite amount of pain and suffering, our Lord and God took a day off. For the first time since the Creation of the world, Jesus rested from His labors. It is fitting that the one day He spent in death's sleep was the Sabbath Day of rest. None of us have had to live through the only day in all of history where the whole world was completely cut off from their Lord and God. We may sometimes feel like we have been cut off because of mistakes that were made, but Christ is and has been and always will be accessible and available and approachable and embraceable, except for that one day of rest before the very first Easter Sunday when He took upon Himself even death so that He could conquer death, just as He had taken upon Himself our sins so that He could conquer Sin.
