Every Good Thing

I'm trying something a little different. Here's a testimony as if written by Nathaniel the Apostle:

“Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth?” I asked, when my friend Philip told me of this Jesus. I must admit, I have always tended to be more honest than polite. My wife would say that I have no tact, but I like the way that Jesus put it best, “Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom there is no guile!” It is not in my nature to fabricate or deceive, to flatter or delude, to feign false interest where I have none nor to devalue my integrity in any way. Therefore, you may believe with absolute certainty when I tell you that there was, in fact, one good thing to come out of Nazareth: my beloved Master and my dear friend Jesus. He is not just a good thing, but THE good thing, the very source from which every good thing comes. The law and the prophets, the rites and the rituals, the sacrifices in the temple, all of these are good things, needful things, beautiful things, but if we peel them all away, at the heart of it all is the the pure, perfect, unfeigned, unconquered love of Jesus Christ. I had the privilege of walking countless miles with this Man and never once did I hear Him utter a word, or take a step, or reach out a hand with the intent to do anything other than bring about as much good as possible. I say to you without guile or ill intent that Jesus is the source of every good thing that has ever or will ever exist, and I fall down on my knees every night to worship the Father in gratitude and awe that I have been so blessed to personally witness so many of the good and great things that my dear, dear Friend has brought to pass. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
