Lift Where You Stand

If you look at the Book of Judges and at the people who stand up to lead their people, on the surface, they don’t seem like they would have a lot in common. Some are men, some are women. They come from different tribes. But what they do have in common is that they saw their people heading towards the path of destruction and rather than sit around and wait for a miracle or weep bitterly for the fallen state of their people, they got up and did something about it. They saw that their people were in need of leadership and so they got up and led. We don’t need to be the son or the daughter of the old prophet, or the next in line to the throne, or an elected official or a business leader. All we need is to recognize that our people need help and the courage to stand up and be a light and a help and a salvation to them.
