Universal Solvent

In chemistry, a solution is composed of a solvent and a solute. For example, if we were to take some salt, the solute, and stir it into some water, the solvent, the ions in the salt would start to bond with the ions in the water until the salt is completely dissolved, leaving us with a solution of saltwater. It is appropriate that in this example, I used water for the solvent, because water is known as the Universal Solvent. It can mix and make solutions with practically anything. Chemically, it can act as either an acid or a base. It is an integral molecular compound to all living things. Water is also an incredibly important component of worship. All must enter the waters of baptism to become disciples of Christ, and all must renew those covenants weekly with the Sacrament, which, again, includes water. Christ Himself is the Living Waters. He is the true Universal Solvent. There is nothing that we face in our lives that we can't bring to the Fountain of Living Waters and we can dissolve our problems in His grace and end up with the perfect solution. We may be tempted to believe that for some of our problems, there is no solution, not even from the Universal Solvent of Living Waters. This is a lie. There is no sin we have committed, no unforgivable evil inflicted upon us, no tragedy that has befallen us that can't be swallowed up by the grace of Jesus Christ. Our particular problem may be huge. It may require not just a sacrament cup or a bucket but a whole ocean of living water to fully dissolve our issue until we finally end up with a completely balanced solution, but if we come unto Christ, we have access to a fountain of living waters which will never stop flowing. If sometimes we feel like we are drowning, that only means that Christ is flooding us with His Living Waters to give us the solution to our problems. I hope we all come often and unfailingly to the Universal Solvent, the Living Waters, our Savior Jesus Christ.
