A Feasting Attitude

We are invited to feast upon the words of Christ. I believe that a feast has less to do with the quantity or the quality of the food (or the words of Christ) and more to do with our attitude. A starving person may consider a stale piece of bread to be a feast, whereas a person who is full may wander around a huge buffet and find nothing at all appetizing. Whether we read one verse or a thousand, we can have a feast. Whether we're reading the Sermon on the Mount or a long list of who begat whom when they were eighty and six years old, we can have a feast. Whether we've read a chapter for the first time or the thousandth, we can have a feast. Whether we study the scriptures for a minute or half the day, we can have a feast. Like Sam I Am, we can choose to have a spiritual feast in a box or with a fox, in a house or with a mouse, or here or there or anywhere.
