The Everlasting Father

Jesus Christ is the Everlasting Father both in the sense that He is the Father to all of us who take upon ourselves His name and thus can rightfully be called His children, a relationship that, thanks to His infinite atonement, will remain unbroken throughout all eternity, but He is also the Everlasting Father in the sense that He is the Father of the Everlasting. In other words, Eternity only exists because of Christ’s Atonement. There could be no happily ever after without our Savior Jesus Christ. When He voluntarily laid down His life, Jesus broke the bands of death. When He took up His life once more, He fathered Eternity. He made it possible for families to be linked together forever and ever. It is not just that Heaven wouldn’t be the same without Jesus Christ, but Heaven couldn’t exist at all without His infinite sacrifice. Jesus Christ is the Father Who is Eternal and also the Father of Eternity. Every good thing that has or ever will happen comes from Him, from now and on into forever. I am so grateful for the Father of the Everlasting.
