Dwelling With God In Love
In John Chapter 13, Jesus gives a new commandment to love one another. He does this directly after telling His disciples that He will have to leave them, and that they will not be able to follow Him. Christ can’t be here in person with us every minute of every day. But when we love one another, He is with us. “Behold, let us love one another; for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. We love him, because he first loved us. If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar; for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.” (1 John 4:7, 16, 19-21). When we love one another, we dwell in God’s love, and God dwells in our love. We can’t always be physically in the presence of our Lord, but when we love one another, He is with us.
