Afflicted In Any Manner
"Have ye any that are sick among you? Bring them hither. Have ye any that are lame, or blind, or halt, or maimed, or leprous, or that are withered, or that are deaf, or that are afflicted in any manner? Bring them hither and I will heal them, for I have compassion upon you; my bowels are filled with mercy." (3 Nephi 17:7). Sometimes we may be facing challenges that don't fit neatly into predefined categories. We may be tempted to not bother the Lord with the thing that's troubling us because our struggle isn't as bad, or doesn't seem as bad as those challenges that are affecting other people who may be worse off than we are. But the Lord is willing and eager to help ease all of our burdens, to heal and help and strengthen and uplift us when we are afflicted in any manner. A person with astigmatism may not struggle as much as a blind person, but they do struggle. A person with tinnitus may not struggle as much as a deaf person, but they do struggle. Losing a pet might not hurt as much as losing a parent, but it still hurts. We don't need to turn to the Lord until we have the "right" illness or challenge in our life. God is here to help us with the big stuff and the little stuff, the simple stuff and the complicated stuff.
