Just Get Started
I don't always have a clear idea of what I'm supposed to be writing when I try to do this every day. Sometimes the personal revelation is super clear and the sentences just flow one after the other. Sometimes I'll read a bunch of scriptures and have no idea what I could possibly write that I haven't already written about ten times before. But sometimes I get surprised. I'll do a little control+F search to see if I've already written about the idea I have, that I'm sure I've written about five times, but there won't be anything in there. Sometimes I gotta just start writing and hope that the Lord will inspire me so that what I have to say is something that may be of use to my life and to the lives of those who read it. There may be a lot of reasons that can tempt us to not do important things. It's too hard, too easy, too scary, too boring. But if we just get in and do it, even if we start with a bad attitude or with little hope that we'll benefit from our efforts, the fact that we had the faith to get in and do it anyway means a lot to the Lord and a lot to us. And the doubts and the grumbling will eventually fade away, but every time we go forth with faith and do it anyway, despite our fears or doubts or misgivings or boredom, the faith stays with us, and it makes the next challenge a little easier to go ahead and do it anyway. If we have the faith to do a hard thing when we're feeling strong, then we'll have the faith to do a hard thing when we're feeling weak. And if we have the faith to do a hard thing when we're feeling weak, then we won't resent having to do a hard thing when we've gotten stronger. Our abilities and our dispositions will go up and down but if we choose to go forth with faith regardless of our circumstances or our capabilities, then we will always go forth with the power of the Lord.
