Stand As Witnesses Of God In All Places
We often feel that we must be in the appropriate setting to share our testimony or be an example of the believers. But let's look at some of the places that the Lord's righteous servants stood as His witnesses. In Prison. Joseph of Egypt, Paul, Alma and Amulek, the brothers Nephi and Lehi, Joseph Smith in liberty jail. All delivered powerful testimonies while locked up in prison. In mortal danger. Moses walking into the red sea with an army at his back, Daniel in the lion's den, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in the fiery furnace, Nephi every time his brothers tried to kill him, the Sons of Helaman in all of their battles, Samuel the Lamanite being shot at. None of them flinched to give their testimonies even as their lives were threatened. In death. Christ upon the cross, Stephen being stoned to death, Abinadi being burned to death. Even as they were literally dying they did not cease to stand at witnesses of God in all times and in all places even unto death. I know we sometimes worry that we are in the wrong place at the wrong time to share the gospel and to stand as a witness of God, but when we were baptized, we covenanted to stand as witnesses of God in all times and all places. There is literally no place on Earth where it is impossible for us to stand as a witness of God. If these brave witnesses could still find the strength to share their testimonies while locked up or having rocks thrown at them or about to be eaten by lions or literally on fire, then we should take courage and hope from their examples and look for more opportunities in the most unlikely of places where we may nevertheless still stand at witnesses of God.
