“He lives to guide me with his eye” (Samuel Medley, “I Know That My Redeemer Lives”). What would we do differently if we could see ourselves and the world around us as our Savior does? Jesus can see everything that we've ever been through, and all of the things that came before us that created the conditions for our particular set of challenges and opportunities. Jesus can see everything that we could become, both the best and the worst possible versions of ourselves. The past, the present, and the future, along with the interconnected web of choices and actions and reactions and consequences of all of God's children that have ever or will ever be born - Christ can behold and comprehend all of it simultaneously. Would we not want such an eye as this to guide our decisions? We try to make the best choices we can with our limited capacity, but we have an opportunity to rely on the vision of One with unlimited capacity. Sometimes we are blessed with a glimpse of that infinite and eternal vision, and sometimes we have to walk by faith and be led and guided without knowing beforehand what we should do. But if we will have patience, we will find that relying on the Savior's eye to guide us will help us to take the best possible path forward.
