Expert Witnesses

“Yea, and are willing to mourn with those that mourn; yea, and comfort those that stand in need of comfort, and to stand as witnesses of God at all times and in all things, and in all places that ye may be in, even until death, that ye may be redeemed of God, and be numbered with those of the first resurrection, that ye may have eternal life.” (Mosiah 18:9). In trials, they will often call expert witnesses to the stand to discuss a piece of evidence in greater detail and explain why it is especially relevant and convincing to the case. These expert witnesses have dedicated their lives to studying and understanding the topics on which they are called to give testimony so they have an extra level of authority and credibility as compared to a witness who is not an expert. We have all been called upon to stand as witnesses of God at all times and in all things and in all places. We have the choice of what kind of witness we will be. The more that we study and learn of our Savior Jesus Christ, in other words, to the greater degree that we become an expert witness, the greater we will be able to testify of Christ and His gospel with authority and credibility. We will be able to testify not just with our words but can show personal examples from our lives of how Jesus Christ has transformed our lives. We owe it to all of our brothers and sisters to become as expert of a witness as we can so that we can testify and witness with the power to convince them of the reality of Christ and the life-changing effects of His Atonement.
