Sharing The Light

In the parable of the wise and foolish virgins, it is said that the wise could not share their oil with the foolish. But, I imagine that if the foolish virgins had plenty of oil but no way to light their lamps, the wise virgins would have been happy to share their light. I think this is how sharing the light of the gospel works. We offer to everyone we meet the chance to light their Spiritual lamps. Some may have a deep well of oil ready to receive the light, some may have shallower reserves and some may have no oil at all. What this means is that we should not be discouraged if many of the times we share the light of the gospel it doesn't seem to have much of an impact. Those people haven't acquired enough oil to sustain a burning testimony. But the more often we share our light, the more often we'll find enough people who have been sufficiently prepared, who have enough spiritual oil for the light to take hold on their lives.
