For the Strength of Youth
The most obvious and intended meaning of For the Strength of Youth is that it's a book designed to help strengthen young people, or the Youth. But I believe there is a second interpretation. For the Strength of Youth could also mean having the strength of a youth, in other words, being as strong as a young person. Christ invites us to become like a little child, not because little children are weak, but because they are strong. Little children are meek, they are teachable, they have no doubts or reservations in relying on the Lord. They're not too afraid or tired or disillusioned of doing the right things for the right reasons. Whether we're 8 or 108, if we study and seek to apply the principles taught in For the Strength of Youth, then we will be able to become like little children and we will be filled with the strength of youth.
