Sifted As Wheat

"And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:" (Luke 22:31). Satan wants us scattered, divided, tossed to the wind. He comes into our lives trying to sow as much chaos as possible. There is strength in cohesion, in unity, in having our many abilities, strengths, talents, hopes, dreams and desires united to one purpose, in loving the Lord with our whole souls, in having all of our focus single to the glory of God. When we have gathered as many of the grains of our personality and identity to one purpose, then we can accomplish so much more than if we have allowed Satan to scatter us to the winds and to split our focus and our heart and beliefs in as many directions as possible.
