Render Unto Caesar

"Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's, and unto God the things that are God's." (Matthew 22:21). This wasn't just a clever way to get out of a tricky question. This is instruction from our Savior on how to balance our life. The Savior did not say to neglect all of our physical needs and responsibilities and only focus on the Spiritual side of life. We’re not betraying the Lord by rendering unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s. The Lord gave us stewardship over both the spiritual and temporal aspects of our lives and He expects us to be good stewards over every aspect of our lives. Of course He wants and expects us to involve Him in the details of our lives, but He also wants and expects us to take charge and balance out the time we spend devoted to the Lord and to worldly concerns.
