Crumbs From The Master's Table

“But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs. And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.” (Matthew 15:26-27). Sometimes it seems like everybody around us has a seat at the table and we are left to huddle underfoot and look on with unrequited longing at blessings that others are enjoying but which have been withheld from us. It can be very hard for us to wait for our turn at the table. However, when the Lord requires us to wait, He does not leave us comfortless. His tender mercies will fall upon us like crumbs from the master's table. It may not be the whole loaf that we are seeking, but these small morsels can sustain us and give us the strength and hope to endure with patience until we no longer have to scrounge for crumbs but can take our proper place at the master's table.
