New Eyes to See
They released the first images from the James Webb Telescope to the public. One of the things that sets the new James Webb Telescope apart from older telescopes like Hubble is that it has sensors that can focus much more clearly on infrared light. Much of the light from the farthest reaches of the universe has cooled and dimmed so much that it is undetectable to our human eyes, but not for the new James Webb Telescope. Just like much of the light in the universe is invisible to the naked eye, much of God’s work and glory is difficult to perceive with our mortal eyes. Like a still small voice, the Hand of the Lord is in the details of our lives in ways that are often too subtle for us to notice or understand. But we can pray for a new heart and new eyes to see the wonder and the majesty of our Father in Heaven as He leads and guides us day by day. If we have the faith to ask, God can open our eyes to see parts of His light and love that normally would remain invisible to us.
