“He lives, my prophet, priest, and king” (Samuel Medley, “I Know That My Redeemer Lives”). “Behold, I am he of whom Moses spake, saying: A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. And it shall come to pass that every soul who will not hear that prophet shall be cut off from among the people.” (3 Nephi 20:28) “But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.” (Hebrews 9:11-12). “For he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.” (Revelations 17:14). Every prophet from Adam down to the present day has tried their best to embody and live up to the one true and great Prophet Jesus Christ. Every priest has tried to perform their duties in a way that would honor the Great High Priest Jesus Christ. Every king and ruler who has ever lived has been a pale shadow of the King of Kings. As our Prophet, Jesus sees and speaks the truth and tells us things as they really are and really will be. He calls each of us to set aside our attachments and our low ambitions and embrace our divine destiny. As our Priest, Jesus Christ hears our confessions and weighs the sincerity of our hearts and purges and cleanses us of our sins and helps us to walk in the light of redeeming love. As our King, Jesus Christ leads and guides us and provides for us, as His subjects, a way to prosper and progress and be wise stewards over the gifts He has bestowed upon us so that we may one day have kingdoms of our own, with Christ as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. I am so grateful for my Prophet, Priest, and King.
