Never Thirst Again

As humans, we have an innate and powerful thirst for experiences that impart upon us a sense of awe and wonder and reverence. We go out of our way to climb mountains or hike trails to stunning vistas and breathtaking views. We make pilgrimages to great pyramids and cathedrals and mosques and mausoleums and monuments. We visit museums to see the greatest paintings and sculptures ever produced. We attend symphonies to be moved by powerful music. We make all of these incredible journeys to try and satisfy our thirst for spiritual experiences. Our journeys are not unlike that of the Samaritan woman who traveled to a well to satisfy her thirst. The Savior told her as He tells us that the water He gives means we will never have to thirst again. If we come unto Christ, then we don't have to travel to the Grand Canyon or Mount Everest or the Taj Mahal or the Burj Khalifa. We don't have to satisfy our thirst for Spiritual experiences by seeing a Rodin sculpture or listening to the New York Philharmonic. We can and should still experience all of these great, wonder-filling experiences, but we can also feel that same spirit and satisfy that same spiritual thirst every moment of every day by always having Christ's Spirit with us.
