Knowing And Becoming

For this is life eternal, to know thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. Jesus also said that if you have met the Son then you have met the Father. The more and more we get to know God, the more we become like Him. We will eventually know Him so well that just like with the Savior, for someone to meet us it would be the same as meeting the Father. Anything He would do or say, we would also do or say such things in the same way and for the same reason because we have grown to know Him so well and become so much like Him. That's what eternal life is, knowing and becoming just like our Father, doing the things He does, saying the things He says, loving in the same way He loves. Every time we learn a little more about our God, we become a little more like Him, and we are a little closer to eternal life.
